For the rest of the kids in our county, last Monday was the first day of school. So on Sunday night, Greg, who has an hour commute when school is in session, announced to Z that Monday was the first day of school.
Poor Z. All Monday morning he was confused. Finally he asked what he was supposed to be doing differently.
Boy was he relieved when I explained that He didn’t have to do anything differently. He could go about his day the way he normally does, but the only thing different is that Cub Scouts started again on Monday night.
So what have we been up to in our homeschool?
Well to give our free-wheeling summer schedule a shot in the arm so the kids were back in activity mode, two weeks ago we had a very busy week – two museum field trips, two social activities with friends, and Boy Scout Leadership Lock-in for J. Too busy.
Thankfully, this week was more like normal. Our activities are starting back up again, but aren’t in full swing.
Here’s a bit of a glimpse of our last couple weeks:
oh and somewhere in there Kgirl and I got a couple Physics lesson done (we’re taking the class together), she read a ton of books, J finished all three books in the Hunger Games series in 5 days, and there were more discussions than I can possibly keep track of on a whole variety of subjects – including artillery patterns, explosions, and a lot of “how do you spell?” questions from J.
It’s been a good week, and an easy start back to activities.
